Employers are reporting that they plan to hire 8.6 percent more graduates from the Class of 2014 for their U.S. operations than they did from the Class of 2013, according the Spring 2014 Job Outlook Survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. That’s good news. However, these employers also say that 85% of today’s college graduates are poorly prepared for a job search.
The rules and norms of job searching have changed. Gone are the days of creating a compelling resumé, posting it on job sites and actively following job boards as a way to be sure you’ll find—and ultimately land—a job that meets your needs.
